Windows Media Audio files, also known as “WMA” files or “WMAs,” cannot always be put directly onto a portable media player. To add these songs to such an mp3 player, you first need to convert the songs from WMP files to mp3 files. The same program that makes WMA files, Windows Media Player, can be used to convert those same files into mp3 files. Download and install Windows Media Player if you already don’t have the program on your computer. Create a music CD with the WMA files on the CD. You can use whichever program you wish (Windows Media Player, iTunes, Real Player, etc.) to burn the files onto a blank CD (see Resources). Open Windows Media Player. Click the “Tools” option found at the very top of the program. A drop box will appear. Select “Options” and a separate box will open. Click the “Rip Music” tab.
