Windows Media Encoder is a component software that comes pre-installed recent PCs with Windows operating systems. The Windows Media Encoder software enables users to edit and save video files in various playback formats. Media Encoder can also convert video files. Users tend to convert these files to ensure playback online and in several different media player applications. Converting only takes about a minute. Go to the “Start” icon on the desktop taskbar and select the “Windows Media Encoder” folder tab to access the program. Click the “Convert a File” tab icon in the “New Sessions” window.
