A video compact disc (VCD) allows movie playback on CDs. CDs are usually used for audio but, with the proper player and program, can be used to play small video files. The Audio Video Interleave (AVI) format, created by Microsoft, is commonly used for online videos. There are many programs that can convert VCD to AVI with a purchase. However, if you do a bit of digging, freeware programs are available and are just as reliable as a purchased program. Download and install a file format conversion program to your PC.
