How Do You Convert Rear Speakers To Wireless?
There’s no more tripping over speaker wires when you connect the rear surround sound speakers in your home theater to a wireless speaker kit. Wireless kits use a radio frequency to send the audio signal from your audio-video receiver through a transmitter to a receiver hooked up to each rear speaker. Short lengths of speaker wire are still needed for the physical connections between the rear speakers and the receivers, as well as the home-theater receiver and transmitter. Cut four pieces of speaker wire, each about five inches long, and strip a 1/2-inch of insulation from the ends of each wire. Connect the two strands on the ends of two of the wires to the red and black terminals for rear speakers on your home-theater receiver. To avoid crossing the stereo signal, always hook up the colored or striped wire to the red terminal and connect the other one to the black terminal. Attach the other ends of each wire to the pairs of left and right terminals on the wireless-speaker transmitter.
