How Do You Convert MPEG To DAT?
If you have some MPEG video files that you want convert to a DAT file you will need to get your MPEG file onto a VCD. A DAT file is actually a VCD video file. In order to get your MPEG file converted to a DAT file you will need to use some VCD burning software. There are several commercial VCD burning software options, such as Nero, but you can convert MPEG to DAT using freeware VCD burning software like Totally Free Burner. Download and install Totally Free Burner from the Brother Soft website (see Resources). This is a freeware program so you will not have to pay to use it or keep it. Put a blank CD in your CD-writable drive. You will need this to burn the VCD once you create it. Launch Totally Free Burner on your computer. Click on the “Video CD” icon on the toolbar. This will set your output as VCD and open up the “Burn Video CD” options window. Locate the “Add” button on the “Burn Video CD” window.
