MP3 is a digital audio format typically used for music files. The format is common on files sharing sites, such as LimeWire. When you rip audio tracks from a music CD, the individual files are generally saved in MP3 format. These individual files can be converted to AAC format, another type of audio file designed to have better sound quality than the original MP3 file, by following a few simple steps. Download and open the iTunes program (see link in Resources). ITunes will allow you to convert your MP3 files to AAC format. Right click on the Windows “Start” button and select “Explore” to access the folder where your MP3 files are saved. It helps to have all the files saved to 1 folder before converting them, as it will make the process faster. Keep this window open, as you will want to move the converted file back to the folder upon completion.
