The eFax service provides a convenient tool to receive digitized faxes via e-mail. EFax messages are designated with the EFX file extension and read using the eFax Messenger application. You can use Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional to create a PDF of an eFax file using the virtual PDF printer installed with the program. Once you create a PDF, your edition of Acrobat can scan the the text in the fax using an optical character recognition (OCR) utility.
