Most of the images we deal with on computers are already pixel art images in the JPEG file format. However, there are situations where an image must be converted to pixel art in order to edit or use for print and electronic purposes. The conversion process generally involved scanning hard copy such as photos or documents, or converting vector art to pixel based art. Place your art or photo face down on your flat bed scanner, and close the cover. Open Adobe Photoshop, Corel Graphics Suite or other pixel based image editing program. From the file pull down menu, select “Import.” A scanning dialog box will appear. Select the type of scan you are doing, choosing from color, grayscale image or black and white.
