How Do You Convert A Video Cam To Movie Software?
Once you have shot your footage and are ready to edit, you can start importing your footage using Windows Movie Maker or iMovie, which are standard programs that come with Windows XP or Mac OS. Each are equipped to handle DV input using a DV firewire or USB cable. If you are capturing from an analog video camera, an S-video or composite video cable is required to capture from your camera through another DV camera and into iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. This process is called DV Pass-Through, and can also capture video from camcorders that shoot onto VHS tapes, or from VCRs and DVD players. Connect your cable to from your video camera to the firewire or USB port on your computer and launch Windows Movie Maker. Set your DV camera to play mode and select the “Capture Video” button under the “File” menu. Choose “Capture from Video Device” and select the appropriate camera option. Click the “Browse…” button to enter the name and location of where you want your computer to save your video
