How Do You Convert A Tivo File?
The TiVo digital video recorder was created so that users could record TV shows to watch whenever they wanted to. The TiVo creates a digital file that is very similar to the file format that DVDs use, although there are a few differences between the two file formats. Converting a TiVo file into a standard DVD-compatible file can be done on a PC using software programs that have been optimized to work with the special requirement of a TiVo file. The procedure for converting a TiVo file on the PC is not complicated and will not damage the original TiVo file or PC in any way. Click on “Start” on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen and navigate to “MyComputer,” “My Documents,” (or just “Documents”) and “My TiVo Recordings.” Click once on the TiVo file that is to be converted into another video file format and use the mouse to drag it to the desktop. Download and install the Direct Show Filter Dump program (see the link in Resources below). Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework
