How Do You Control Mice With Peppermint Oil?
Mice and other vermin can invade your home, garden and garage. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mice and other rodents can directly transmit potentially fatal viruses and bacteria such as salmonella, Hantavirus and leptospirosis. Use peppermint oil instead of potentially toxic rodenticides to deter mice and keep your home, children and pets free of these dangerous illnesses. Prepare a mixture of 10 parts water and one part peppermint oil. Place the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray areas where mice have been found, such as in cabinets and underneath furniture. Spray areas that allow entrance into enclosed structures, such as door frames and the bottoms of windows. Soak a few cotton balls or rags with peppermint oil. Place the soaked material around the home, garage, and in protected areas outdoors. Replace each cotton ball or rag with freshly soaked pieces after the oil has dried.
