How Do You Control Excessive Foot Sweating?
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) can be both uncomfortable and embarrassing. Your feet slide around in your shoes, your socks are wet at the end of the day and in severe cases your skin becomes excessively waterlogged (macerated) and appears white and rubbery. In may cases there is an associated odor that, along with the other symptoms, can be resolved by controlling excessive foot sweating. Shower or bath your feet daily to keep your feet clean. If your feet sweat excessively you are more prone to skin infections. So by keeping you feet clean you can reduce the likelihood of this. Rinse your feet in cool water since excessive sweating is associated with heat. Avoid man-made materials in both your shoes and socks. Try to stick to cotton socks rather than nylon. Avoid vinyl as this will make your feet hot and cause them to sweat more. Wear open-toe shoes during the summer months. This will allow air to circulate and cool your feet down.
