Composting is one of those things that can be done so easily, if you have the right tools. Here are some directions for building a simple compost bin that your children can help you put together! Get your 8 foot timbers from your local lumber store and either have them cut them into 4 foot sections or do it yourself. Now clear out an area in a private place to set up your compost bin. Set two 4 foot sections parallel on the ground about 3 1/2 feet apart from each other. Now stack the timbers, flat side down, one on each side, alternatingly. This will create a bin that is a little more than 3 1/2 feet square and about 4 feet high. Now you have a great excuse to start raking and mowing!
