How Do You Construct A Straw Bale House?
Compared to conventional stick frame building techniques there are many different means and materials to construct a house.My personal favorites is straw bale . To me this is among the greenest because it takes very inexpensive materials to build the exterior walls, a material that is sustainable and readily available. In fact in California rice straw is burned as an agricultural by-product so using it for housing saves on carbon emissions and wood from conventional framing. This article is by no means comprehensive and is meant to introduce people to the idea of straw bale houses. Straw bale houses are made by stacking the bales in a running bond (just like you would stack a brick wall) and using a wood frame with a lintel to house the windows and doors.
