How Do You Construct A Live Groundhog Trap?
Groundhogs many be considered cute in Hollywood, but in real life they can be giant pests in your yard. Fortunately, live-trapping is an option for capturing groundhogs without killing them. The good thing about groundhogs is that there are rarely more than two of them per acre, so unless you own a farm, you do not have to worry about severe infestation. Find the opening to one of the groundhogs’ burrows, since there may be two or more. You will find the burrows where there are raised mounds in your yard, indicating where the groundhog enters and exits. Place the cage right outside the burrow opening, so that the groundhogs will be immediately drawn to the bait in the trap. Put the bait in the cage at the farthest end from the entrance, so that the groundhog is fully inside when it shuts. Cut the fruits and vegetables into small pieces, to make it easier for the groundhog to eat them. Make sure to set up the cage with the front door open all the way to ensure that the groundhog can fit
