How Do You Construct A Brain Model?
The brain is a complex organ located inside of the skull. The brain can be divided into parts according to the lobes, cortexes or internal structures. Before constructing a brain model, first determine which type of model will be created and how detailed it will be. Create a lengthwise cross-section of the brain to illustrate all of areas to be included in the model. This simple 3-D model of the lobes of the brain can be made in one afternoon. Choose one color of clay. Make a ball the same size as a fist. Divide the ball into five smaller sections. Roll each section into a long snake shape the thickness of a pencil. Coil the five snakes randomly together so they are roughly the shape of the frontal lobe. Set aside. Repeat the process with a different color for the parietal lobe. Choose a third color of clay to represent the occipital lobe. Use half as much clay as used for the first two lobes and create three snakes with the same process as the first two lobes.
