Computer systems typically connect to a monitor via a Video Graphics Array (VGA) cable connection. This is a single connection port, roughly an inch wide, with nine small pin connectors that send the video signal. Televisions do not (usually) have this connection available, but it is possible to convert the VGA connection of a computer to several other connection ports on a television, including the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) hookup on a high definition television system. Attach the VGA end of the adapter cable into the VGA connection port on the computer (both desktop and laptop computers have this connection).
