How Do You Connect To The Terminal Server?
Microsoft introduced Terminal Server services with Windows 2000. The Terminal Server service was renamed to Remote Desktop in newer versions of Windows, but the interface and connection methods are the same. You connect to a Terminal Server using the Remote Desktop software included with your Windows desktop software. The software is located in your accessories, and it is included with all versions of Windows. Click the Windows “Start” button. Click “All Programs,” then click “Accessories,” and finally click “Remote Desktop.” This opens a connection dialog box. Type the name of your Terminal Server computer. This name is the name displayed in the system information of the server computer. Click “Connect.” A terminal window opens on your desktop. A log in dialog box opens. Type your user name and password to access the server and press “Enter.” The remote server’s desktop is shown in your terminal window. Move the mouse in the window to verify you are connected.
