How Do You Connect Three-Way Speakers In A Car?
Car speakers differ from home speakers in that the elements of the speaker system–woofer, tweeter and midrange–are combined into a single platform that can be installed in a location like a door or rear deck. If you want to install three-way speakers in your car, there is only one set of connections that needs to be made, so the process is relatively simple. Disconnect the old car speaker. Factory speakers are usually connected to the factory wiring with a plug connector. Simply unhook the plug from the speaker to disconnect the speaker. Cut the factory plug off of the car speaker wiring using wire cutters. Strip the insulation off of the two leads of the car speaker wiring so that about 3/8 of an inch of bare wire is exposed. Crimp quick slide connectors onto the bare ends of the car speaker wiring. The connectors should be the right size to slide onto the terminals of the three-way car speaker, so check the sizes before crimping onto the wiring. Note that the terminals of the three
