How Do You Connect An XP PC To A Mac Network?
Macs and PCs used to be very different–not to mention very incompatible. Now, however, they work well enough together that you can switch between them while performing your computer tasks, yet hardly notice the transition outside of aesthetic differences. Nevertheless, a couple of extra steps are involved to make them play nice with each other–networking is no exception. Click the Apple logo button at the top left corner of the screen on the Mac off of which you would like to share files. Click “System Preferences” in the menu that appears, and then click “View.” Click “Accounts.” See all of the users associated with the Mac. Select the user account from which you want to share files, and then click “Edit User.” Type in the appropriate password, if necessary, and check the “Allow user to log in from Windows” box.
