Windows Media Player 11 is one of the latest releases of the popular media player (it also comes preinstalled on most brand new Windows based computers). However, the newest Internet Explorer currently is version 8 (as of April 2010), so Media Player 11 by default runs with a newer Internet browser. If you have found you like the older Internet Explorer 6 better it is possible to use the previous IE version with the media player. Download Internet Explorer 6 if you do not currently have it on the computer. A link is provided with the latest IE6 downloads and updates. Launch Windows Media Player 11.
