Connecting your PC to your television can provide a larger screen to watch DVDs, surf the Internet or stream videos. However, connecting a PC to a television can be difficult if you don’t have matching cables such as a VGA connection on your PC and no VGA output on your television. Fortunately, there are many converter cables available that allow a PC with a VGA output to connect to a television with component outputs. Turn off both devices. Connect the VGA input into your PC’s VGA output by aligning the pins and plugging it in. Finish making the connection by tightening the two screws on the cable to secure it to the PC. Connect the component cable to the component output on your television. The end of the cable should have three inputs color coded to connect to the corresponding colored television outputs. Turn on both devices and switch the television video input setting to the appropriate component input.
