The TI-83 requires a serial connect to the computer and a 2.5mm pin connect to the calculator. The TI-83 Plus requires a regular usb cable A connector to the computer and the 2.5mm pin to the calc. The TI-84 requires a regular usb cable similar to a printer cable but much shorter. An A-B configuration. Only the TI-84 came with the cable; the others were sold separately.
