There are two issues you want to address with your home–security and electric efficiency. Here is a simple procedure to address both issues at the same time by installing a wall-mounted motion sensor light with a timer to the outside of your home. Make a trip to the local hardware or home improvement store to pick up the lighting kit. You will want the one with the timer to save on electricity. Bring the lighting kit home and gather up the rest of the list of things you need so that you won’t have to waste time hunting for something later. Find the breaker box for the electric service. Shut off the power to the outside lights. Unscrew the lightbulb in the old lighting fixture and put aside. Next, unscrew the bolts or screws holding the old lighting fixture to the house.
