How Do You Connect A Home Theater HDTV Cable Video Recorder?
A home theater video recorder connects to High Definition TV (HDTV) with either a High Definition Media Interface Cable (HDMI) or component video and audio cables. Both types of cables offer virtually fool-proof connections that take only minutes. HDMI cables feature 19 pins inside the plug on each end for transmitting high-definition video and up to eight channels of digital audio. RGB component cables separate the video signal into Red, Green and Blue with color coded jacks for simplified connections. Standard white and red audio cables are used with RGB video cables. HDMi will deliver superior picture and multichannel sound, although RGB cables will do the job if HDMI jacks are unavailable. Check the back of the video recorder to determine which connection jacks are available. An HDMI port will have six sides and 19 holes in three rows inside. It should also be labeled HDMI OUT. Component video and audio will have five round jacks grouped as red, green and blue for video, and white
