How Do You Connect A Bath Faucet Spout?
The spout on a bathtub can become corroded over time, not only making it look ugly but also causing it to leak. The minerals in the water can eat away at the thin material from which the tub spout is made. A new tub spout will cost less than $10, according to 2010 prices, and will take no more than 10 minutes to install, even for a novice. Remove the old tub spout by unscrewing the set screw located at the base of the tub spout. Pull the old tub spout off the water pipe. Sand the end of the water pipe with fine grit sandpaper to remove any mineral deposits or other debris. Install the new tub spout onto the end of the water pipe. Be sure to push it snug against the shower wall on the water pipe. Tighten the set screw making sure not to over-tighten it.
