How Do You Configure An External Hard Drive To Act As RAM?

You can’t get the same performance as with having extra ram installed, hdd’s are slower especially external ones going through USB you can create page filing which gives some performance improvements on XP (not much though) To set page filing go to Control Panel > System > then click the “Advanced” tab > Under Performance click “Settings” Then click the “Advanced” tab and under virtual memory click “Change” Select your external hdd and set the minimum and maximum values XP does not have a similar feature like Readyboost has in Vista so thats the closest you can get.
