How Do You Coil A Bandsaw Blade?
Bandsaw blades are usually packaged in a cardboard sleeve, coiled up “in thirds.” Uncoiling them is easy, although you should wear gloves and hold the coil at arm’s length as you uncoil it. Coiling the blade back up again for storage can be a bit of a puzzle. Since it is an endless loop, it’s not quite easy as coiling a garden hose. Hold the blade in a circle in front of you, and imagine that it is a clock face. Grasp the blade at ten o’clock and at two o’clock with both hands, palms facing up, thumbs pointing away from each other. (This is shown without gloves, for clarity) Step on the blade with your toe at the six o’clock position. Rotate your hands towards each other allowing the 12 o’clock spot on the blade to move towards you and the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions to move towards each other. Move your hands down towards your foot. The 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock positions will cross each other. The 12 o’clock spot will tuck under and now begin to move away from you Bring your hand
