How Do You Clear The IE 6 Address Bar?
Whenever you type an address into Internet Explorer 6, it saves that URL to be accessed later in the drop down list. If the workstation is shared with other users either publicly or in your own home, this list can be seen by anyone else using Internet Explorer. To keep others from having a road map of where you’ve been, you can clear the drop down list of entries to help preserve your privacy. Clear the IE 6 Address Bar by clearing the History. Select “Tools” – “Internet Options” – “General” – “Clear History”. If you do not want to clear your History and want to clear just the Address Bar, then proceed to Step 2. Verify that Internet Explorer is not running. Clearing out only the Address Bar requires editing the registry. The standard warning to be very careful when editing the registry applies. Click “Start” – “Run” and type “regedit” to start the registry editor. Use the tree view at the left and double click on “HKEY_CURRENT_USER”. Continue in the same manner until you have opened “
