How Do You Clear Address Bar In Vista?
Internet Explorer in Windows Vista saves the URL of websites you visit in the address bar so that you can refer to them at a later date, without having to bookmark them or write them down. If you want to clear this address bar history (without deleting the entire history of what sites you’ve been to) you can modify a registry key. Close all programs on your computer, taking special care to ensure that your Internet Explorer windows are closed. Click the “Start” button, click on “Run,” type “regedit” into the Run box and then hit the Enter key. Navigate to the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Typed URLs” registry sub-key in the Registry Editor, using the left-hand navigation pane. Delete all registry keys in this sub-key in the right-hand pane by clicking on then and hitting the “DEL” key. The keys you should delete are ones in the form of “url1, url2, url3, etc.” Close the Registry Editor. The address bar history is now cleared.
