How Do You Clear A Clogged Pipe?
A clogged pipe can can play havoc with the various water appliances in your house. If your pipe clogs, the water that gets backed up may begin to affect your quality of living. Therefore, it is vital that you unclog any pipe that has a clog as soon as possible. Most clogs can be cleared–without calling in an expensive plumber–using tools that can be rented or purchased from a home improvement store. Fill up the area with water. Place the plunger over the drain and push up and down four or five times. Remove the plunger. If this solution worked, the water should go down into the drain. If the plunger does not work, you may need to clear away any debris that may be clogging up the drain itself. For a sink, crawl underneath and remove the piping with a pipe wrench. Clear out the sink trap of any debris. Replace the pipe to see if the clog has been filled. For a bathtub, remove the drain stopper and clean out the drain itself of debris.
