How Do You Clean Wax Off Of Carpet?

A spilled candle can cause a big mess. The wax dries on carpet almost instantly and no amount of picking at it can get it all up. Don’t panic – your carpet is not a lost cause. Wax is actually surprisingly easy to remove from carpets, using some things you probably already have around the house. Plug your iron in as close to the wax stain as possible and turn it on. Set it to a medium heat. Remove any large clumps of wax from the carpet. Tear the brown paper bag so that it makes one large, flat sheet. Lay one corner of the paper over the wax stain. Place the iron on the brown paper bag directly over the stain and move it back and forth until the bag begins to look wet. This is the wax soaking into the bag. Move the bag to a clean spot and begin ironing again. Continue ironing and moving the paper until no more wax soaks into the bag. Remove the bag and check the carpet, making sure all of the wax has been removed.
