Vinyl flooring provides an ideal surface for the installation of stick-on tiles. Before placing the tiles, however, you must make sure that the vinyl surface has been completely cleaned in preparation. It’s not difficult, but a thorough job will require a bit of extra work on your part. Sweep the floor, removing all loose dirt and debris from the vinyl surface. Fill a mop bucket with a mild detergent mixture containing Ivory Liquid dish soap and warm water. Mop the floor, taking care not to pool water on the vinyl surface. Rinse the surface using a clean towel. Use a white nylon-backed sponge to scrub the floor with the mild soap mixture. Make sure to deep-clean any grooves in the surface design of the vinyl flooring.
