Last year when we were decorating the kids bed room we took down the vertical blinds a slat at a time and wound then up wrapped an elastic band around the bundle and soaked in hot soapy water for a few hours then put then all into a pillow case tied it at the top and put then on a 40 degree wash when they were finished we put the large weight at the bottom back on and hung then back on the window to dry they came up like new ,and let me tell you they were really dirty they were suppossed to be white so i’d give it a go and wash them just remember to take the weights off first and wind them up tight

No, don’t do that. Take down all you’re blinds and take them outside (find or make a clean area to lay them down). Lay them flat on the ground. Get a large scrubbing brush and a large bucket of hot soapy water. Soak the blinds with 409 or simple green (or some kind of cleaner) first. Test a corner to check for potential fade issues first though, don’t want to ruin the finish. After letting them soak, scrub the hell out of them with the hot soapy water and the brush. Rinse with the hose. Repeat if you need too. Then Flip them over, repeat the process again. After rinsing them, dry them off with a towel. They’ll look 100 times better than before, almost like brand new. Edit: This is for the vinyl (plastic) blinds, not the fabric blinds.
