How Do You Clean Tracks When Washing Windows?
Cleaning window tracks is an important step when washing windows. If you don’t clean tracks before you begin washing, moisture drips down and collects in the sills making them muddy. Get a little paint brush with stiff bristles or a small straw broom. Brush it along the sides and bottoms of your window sills to loosen dirt and debris. Brush dirt and debris out of the bottom of the window sill onto the floor or ground. Use a rag to wipe out any debris left behind. Use a broom or vacuum to clean up the debris. A vacuum brush attachment can also be used inside the window sill to suck up leftover dirt. Spray the sills with a grease-cutting all-purpose cleaner if they’re too gunky to clean with a brush, broom or vacuum. Read the directions to make sure the cleaner won’t harm painted surfaces. Use a rag to wipe out the gunk. Remove sliding windows from their tracks if you want better cleaning access. This will allow you to reach a few inches of space you wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise.
