How Do You Clean The Lens On A Playstation 2?
The original version of the Playstation 2 gaming console has an issue where it frequently is unable to read discs. When your system is having a disc read error, the problem is almost always that the lens used to read the disc is dirty. This guide explains how to take apart a PS2 and clean the lens to remedy this problem. Open the outer case of the PS2. First make sure that no cords are plugged in, and that the power is turned off. Flip the system over. There are ten small square-shaped tabs on the bottom, four of which are softer and rubbery. Remove the tabs with a fingernail or other flat implement to expose the screws that hold the system together. Next use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove all 10 screws. The two screws closest to the power switch are longer than the others, so make sure to put those back in the right spot when you put it back together.
