How Do You Clean The Coils On A GE Manual Defrost Refrigerator?

0

If your manual defrost refrigerator isn’t running as cold as it used to, it may be time to clean the coils. Dirt and dust tend to accumulate and decrease your refrigerator’s performance. Clean the condenser coils three times a year or more often if you have shedding pets. Unplug the power cord. Move the fridge away from the wall if the coils are located in the back, or remove the grill plate from the bottom or top of the fridge. It may have screws or pop off on its own. Brush the condenser coils to loosen dirt or pet hair. Try to get down between each coil, and be careful of any sharp edges. Vacuum the coils and floor where the dirt may have fallen. Use the tube attachment to reach any small spaces. Get as much dust out of the coils as possible. Wipe off the grill cover or panel with a damp cloth and dry. Replace the grill cover and plug in the refrigerator. Move the fridge back up against the wall.
