The Playstation Portable (PSP) has a design flaw where poor soldering of the circuit board connections can result in a deposit of burned ash sticking to the inside of the LCD screen. You can remove the burned ash from the LCD screen yourself, providing you are willing to void the Sony warranty by opening the PSP. Cleaning the burned back of the PSP’s LCD screen only requires a few household items and can be done in less than an hour. Put a soft cloth down on a table. Put the PSP face down on the soft cloth with the disc drive door facing away from you. Remove the battery compartment lid from the left side of the PSP with your fingers. Remove the battery from inside of the battery compartment with your fingers. Scratch off the warranty sticker inside of the battery compartment. Remove the now exposed screw with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Remove the three other screws in the battery compartment with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Remove the screw from the bottom middle edge
