There are some people in this world who excel at burning food in pans. Those of us with this talent are capable of creating a thick black impenetrable layer of burnt crust on the bottom of any pan – the nicer and more expensive the pan, the better we are at it. Even the newest and shiniest of pans is not exempt. Gas stoves make burning easiest and the better abilities we develop for multitasking, the more efficient we pan-burners are. And, believe me, I AM experienced! Here are some techniques I’ve had success with in returning the bottom of dreadfully burnt pans to clean. Until the next time…! Soaking the burnt pan overnight with bleach or lemon juice can help loosen and lift some burnt layers. Most times this wasn’t sufficient for my impressive needs. A common solution is to cover the bottom of the pan with vinegar and add 3 – 4 teaspoons of baking soda. Even better seems to be if you replace the vinegar with a little water instead, and add a tiny bit of soap and a few drops of hyd
