Want to clean the cartride filters on your swimming pool? They need to be cleaned about once a month to lengthen the life of the cartridges and to maintain good pool water clarity. Turn the pool pump off. You will not be able to remove the cartridges with the water circulating. Remove the band around the filter tank or take lose the bolts that hold the two halves together. Remove all the filters inside the filter tank. Usually between 1 and 4. Use a water hose and rinse any loose debris off. Add a filter cleaner usually a spray bottle, and allow to sit for several minutes. This will remove all of the body oils and lotions that have been trapped by the filter. After 10-15 minutes, rinse the filter cleaner off the cartridges really well. Use your thumb and the water hose to get some pressure to get rid of the built up gunk. A pressure washer can be used as well on a low setting as to not damage the filters. OPTIONAL You can follow up with a muriatic acid treatment after the filter cleane
