The process of sealing a slate tile floor protects the stone itself as well as the installation overall, including the substrate beneath the installation area. Using warm water, thoroughly rinse the brush out immediately after you have performed the sealing. If you wait too long the sealer has a chance to set up within the brush, and you will not be able to salvage it for another use. Pour a splash of mineral spirits into your container or bucket. Press your brush into the solution and vigorously swish it in alternate directions, pressing firmly against the bottom of the container to ensure you are getting the spirits through all of the bristles.
