How Do You Clean Silver With Tin Foil?
From jewelery to dishes, silver is a valuable metal used for a variety of items. But silver, like most other items, can become dirty. If you have silver items around your home, you might have noticed the tarnish on your possessions. Luckily, you can actually clean the silver products using tin foil and return the silver back to its original shine. Step 1 Take a bowl you would typically use to cook or prepare food in and coat the entire bottom with tin foil. It is all right if you need to use more than one sheet. Step 2 Pour hot water into the bowl. It can be boiling water, but this is not necessary (although you do know it is hot if it is boiling). Step 3 Put 2 tbsp. of baking soda into the water followed by 1 tsp. of salt. This should dissolve quickly in the hot water. Step 4 Place the silver items in the bowl and allow them to sit for at least 30 minutes. Step 5 Return to the bowl. The water should now be cool so you can reach in and take out your silver.
