How Do You Clean Silver With Aluminum Foil & Salt?
If your silver needs to be cleaned, try a homemade silver cleaner. Commercial silver cleaners are available, but they can be costly. Silver can be cleaned using aluminum foil and table salt for a fraction of the cost of commercial cleaners. This homemade method for cleaning silver will remove tarnish and restore shine to your silver jewelry, flatware and any other silver items that need to be cleaned. Line the bottom of baking dish or pan with aluminum foil. The size of the pan will depend on the size of the silver items you are cleaning. The pan needs to be large enough to hold the silver and cover it with water. Fill a separate pot with water. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Use enough water in the pot to cover, or just about cover, the silver piece. Pour the hot water into the pan with the aluminum foil. Use caution so not to burn yourself when pouring the hot water. Add 2 tablespoons of table salt to the water. Stir gently with a spoon to dissolve the salt
