How Do You Clean Mold Without Bleach?
Use vinegar or borax to kill mold and other bacteria. Mold grows in dark, warm and wet places. Key places for mold are basements, bathrooms and crawlspaces. Mold comes in several colors: black, green, brown or red. Mold has a musty smell to it and has a slight furry texture. Mold can cause allergy problems and eat away at woodwork. Vinegar and borax both occur in nature and are safe to use. Vinegar Step 1 Fill a spray bottle half way with vinegar. Fill it the rest of the way with water. Screw the lid on and shake. Step 2 Spray the mold. Allow it to sit for two or three minutes. Step 3 Scrub the mold off with a scrub brush. Rinse it off with a cup of water. Step 4 After all the mold is gone, spray it again and let it dry on the surface. The vinegar absorbs the odor from the mold. Borax Step 1 Sprinkle borax over the mold. Step 2 Let the borax sit for five minutes. Step 3 Scrub the mold off with the borax. Step 4 Rinse thoroughly with water. Dry with the towel.
