How Do You Clean Mold & Mildew From Bricks?
The terms “mold” and “mildew” may seem interchangeable, but mold is actually a type of fungus that results in mildew. Mold can be a variety of colors, such as black or green, whereas mildew is generally gray or white. They both develop on materials in moist, dark areas. After rainfall, watering plants, or other moisture exposure, mold and mildew may appear on bricks. Bricks are not as easy to clean as moldy fabric because they are stationary, but it can be done safely and effectively with the proper products and technique. Wet the brick with a hose or a spray bottle filled with water, depending on the size of the affected area. Fill a large bucket with 1 gallon of water, and add 1 cup of bleach. Stir the mixture gently to evenly distribute the bleach throughout the water. Dip a nylon-bristled scrub brush into the bleach mixture.
