The trick is getting the bleach mixture high onto the wall! Start by ixing about one cup of bleach with a gallon of water in your bucket. You’ll probably need to attache a handle extension to your mop. Here a boat hook is taped to the mop handle with duct tape. A broom handle, heavy fishing pole, or even a sapling will also work. Now soak the mop in the bleach mixture and then raise it up to apply the dilluted bleach to the mildew stain. Repeat until the black stain is gone. In humid climates you might have to repeat this cleaning process every year to keep the mildew under control.
