How Do You Clean Lawn Furniture Cushions?
Lawn furniture cushions usually consist of a fabric shell encasing a piece of foam or upholstery stuffing. Cushions can become soiled, discolored and odorous after years of use and exposure to the elements. You can clean your cushions and spare the expense of having to replace them. Pour 1/4 cup of powdered laundry detergent into a bowl. Slowly mix 1 cup of lukewarm water into the detergent with an electric mixer set to medium speed. The mixture will become thick and form suds. Apply the mixture to the stains on the cushions. Scrub the suds into the stains with a stiff scrub brush until the stains have disappeared. Apply more of the mixture during scrubbing if necessary. Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Carry the cushions outside during warm weather or place them in a well-ventilated room near a window so that the sun will speed the drying process.
