How Do You Clean Inside A Grand Piano Lid?
If you have a grand piano, you know how dusty and dirty it can get under the lid. There are several things you can do on your own to clean inside the grand piano lid and keep it clean. Whenever possible, keep the lid closed. If you have the top up most of the time, the piano will trap a lot of dust and dirt. Just open it when you really need the full sound or want the beautiful look of an open grand. Take a soft dust cloth and carefully dust the front area around the tuning pins and in the easy-to-reach area around the strings. Be sure to use a plain cloth without any oil, since oil might damage the pins or strings. You can do this every couple of weeks. For a more thorough cleaning, vacuum the pin area with the vacuum dusting brush. Then vacuum in back around the strings and very lightly and carefully over the strings.
