If you’ve opened your dryer and gotten the nasty surprise of dried ink splattered all over the inside of the drum, you have some options besides pulling your hair. Use cleaning products and solvents you have around the home before going to the store for specialty items. Remove all the clothes from the dryer. Unplug the dryer to avoid electrocution. Apply an all-purpose cleaner to a paper towel and rub the ink stain. Be sure the dryer drum is cool. Clean with several damp paper towels. Assess the cleaner’s effectiveness. If the stain persists, soak a white rag with rubbing alcohol or hairspray and scrub the stain. It may take repeated applications to dissolve the ink. Use specialty stain-removing products if these steps don’t work.
