Use the scrub pad in small circular motions on the wet powdered cleaner on the pipe to remove markings and dirt. Rinse PVC pipe with water when markings or dirt have been removed. Step 3 If markings or dirt have not been removed, soak steel wool pad in acetone. Gently rub off markings or dirt with the steel wool. Work in small sections, no more than 2 feet of pipe at a time, while working with the acetone. Step 4 Use the lint-free white cloth to wipe the acetone off of the pipe.
